Job Description

Job Summary:
To provide direct and indirect care under supervision of the clinic nurse, assisting patients with activities of daily living, personal care, comfort and assistance when necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Attend work as scheduled. Comply with the Code of Conduct. Obtain and document patient vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, oxygen saturation, height, weight, and body mass index). Prepare and maintain the examination and procedure rooms. Prepare patients for examinations, treatments and procedures. Assist with examinations, procedures and treatments as requested. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment in the exam and procedure rooms. Clean exam and procedure rooms per clinic protocol. Assist in admission, transfer and dismissal procedures. Recognize and respond to medical emergencies. Complete assigned tasks and documentation in the medical record. Perform routine lab test that are required of a rural health clinic. Complete the patient reminder cards and document in the medical record. Inform patient of test results under the supervision of the clinic LPN/RN. Administer injectable medications and immunizations under the supervision of the clinic LPN/RN. Document medication and immunization administration. Obtain, evaluate and record patient history. Assist clinic LPN/RN as requested. Actively model the hospital's mission, vision, values and behavior standards. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Education and Experience:
Education:
High school diploma required; certification of CNA in Kansas, current
CPR Experience:
Preferred Family Medicine clinic setting
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and carry up to 15 pounds occasionally; will involve some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling, pushing and pulling with frequent standing and walking; requires manual dexterity with ability to perceive size, shape, temperature or texture; auditory and visual acuity required with attention to verbal abilities and color discrimination.

$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
