Job Description

Certified Nursing Assistant Job Summary:
We are currently recruiting for CNAs to join our Haven Nursing Center team! The person filling this position must be a certified CNA in the state of Louisiana. Residents at Haven live in units/hallways referred to as "households". CNAs are essential employees of the household team. CNAs provide direct, hands-on care to residents in a long-term care setting, support residents with daily living activities, promote comfort and safety, and assist nursing staff in delivering high-quality, compassionate care. This role is essential to maintaining residents' dignity, well-being, and quality of life. CNAs works 12-hour shifts, providing more time off, including 3-days off, every other weekend.
Primary Duties:
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs); Help residents with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation; Monitor and report changes in residents condition to licensed nursing staff; Obtain and record vital signs and other basic health information; Respond promptly to call lights and residents needs; Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident environment; Assist with meal service and hydration needs; Provide emotional support and respectful companionship to residents; Follow care plans, infection control standards, and safety procedures; Document care provided accurately and timely.
Minimum Qualifications:
Commitment to person-centered care; Ability to life, move, and assist residents safely; Strong communication and teamwork skills; Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor. Preferred Qualifications (but not required): Knowledge and training about caring for persons living with dementia; Experience working with Point Click Care clinical software.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds; Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, reach and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
Additional Requirements:
Active CNA certification in the State of Louisiana; CPR Certification (or willing to obtain prior to employment); Tuberculosis screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment; Employee reference checks will be conducted. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
