Job Description

Make it happen at Hopkins. Patient Care Tech intern
  • CNA•Adult Oncology 5D Full time•Night Shift•36 hours•the schedule includes every other weekend.
The Patient Care Tech Intern works under the supervision of a nurse and taking into consideration the developmental needs of the patient, performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature as competent documentation designates. As a Patient Care Tech on the Adult Oncology Intensive care unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital Weinberg , you will care for patients with hematological malignancies who are receiving bone marrow transplants, critically ill oncology patients, and patients with solid tumor diagnosis. Our hematologic malignancy and hematology patients have access to some of the most innovative and advanced therapies in the world. Because Kimmel Cancer Center research scientists and clinicians closely work together, new drugs and treatments developed in the research laboratory are quickly transferred to the clinical setting, offering patients improved therapeutic options and the chance to participate in innovative clinical trials. Patient Care Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital are an integral part of this highly skilled health care team.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required. Entry-level knowledge of basic clinical skills required to support nursing personnel with patient care activities and related services focused on the needs and comfort of patients. PCT Intern will remain in an intern role for no longer than 1 year. The PCT Intern will advance to the PCT I upon meeting training requirements.
BLS CPR certification required:
AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.

Salary Range:
Minimum 18.00/hour
  • Maximum 18.
00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
