Director of Nursing Job Summary:
Care for sister residents' physical, emotional and social needs. Helps sisters by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs, monitoring vital signs. A nursing assistant will be required to work every other weekend and alternating holidays.
Essential Functions:
- Physical care of sisters includes shower, oral care, hair care and toileting
- Emotional care of sisters includes encouraging independence, showing them respect, taking time with them, frequent visits to check on them
- Care for sisters' social needs includes talking with them at mealtime, visiting them stroll outside or in the hall with them, engaging sisters in conversations and activities.
- Assist in transporting sisters to any activities
- Answer call lights
- Practice good hygiene and hand washing techniques after each patient contact
- Change bed linens and keep rooms neat and orderly, maintain a clean, neat and orderly work environment
- Deliver meals and snacks to sisters in the am and pm
- Feed or assist sister to eat, giving them individual attention
- Give range of motion exercises when indicated
- Prepare sisters for trips to doctors, bathing and dressing in clean clothing
- Clean sisters' desktops, bedside tables and cabinets in the sister presence.
- Empty and clean commodes or bedpans after use.
- Rinse soiled c-pads and diapers as necessary
- Stock sisters' rooms and supply area as needed
- Report changed to charge nurse concerning each sister
- Responsible for sisters' personal laundry
- Responsible for cleaning up food spills or accidents immediately
- May be required to transport sisters to physician in convent vehicle or in your own vehicle with reimbursement

Administrator or Lead Charge Nurse Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
- Lift without restrictions 25-50lbs, bending and stooping
- Ability to work well with others and be able to multi-task
- Dependability
- Have good communication shills
- Demonstrate compassion toward sister residents
