Job Description:
Position Summary The Nursing Assistant provides direct resident care and support with daily activities under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role focuses on promoting resident comfort, safety, and dignity while assisting with routine care in a long-term care or healthcare setting. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Help residents with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and ambulation Assist with meal setup, feeding, and monitoring food/fluid intake Take and record vital signs as assigned Observe residents and report changes in condition to nursing staff Maintain accurate documentation of care provided Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident needs Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment Follow infection control, safety, and resident rights policies Assist with admissions, discharges, and room preparation Provide emotional support and companionship to residents Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program preferred (we offer classes) Previous healthcare or long-term care experience preferred but not required Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff Certifications (If Applicable) CNA certification (if required by state or facility) CPR certification (preferred or required per facility) Physical Requirements Ability to lift, move, and assist residents (up to 50+ lbs with assistance) Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Work Environment Long-term care or skilled nursing facility Exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids May require working weekends, holidays, and various shifts Key Skills Compassion and patience Strong communication and teamwork Attention to detail Time management Dependability and professionalism
