Nursing Assistant Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including geriatrics, ICU, outpatient, medical-surgical, and behavioral health. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. Provide support to patients with dementia care and other behavioral health needs. Help in the mobility of patients by assisting them with walking or transferring between beds and wheelchairs. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records systems such as Cerner. Collaborate with nursing staff to implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care procedures and concerns. Skills Strong knowledge of patient care principles and practices in various settings including geriatrics, ICU, outpatient, medical-surgical, and behavioral health. Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and understanding their significance in patient care. Experience or training in dementia care is highly desirable. Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Cerner is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating compassion and empathy towards patients.
