Job Description

Job Summary:
The Nurse Aide under the direct supervision of the RN/LPN is delegated assignments by the RN/LPN to achieve quality patient care. He/she is involved in the implementation phase of the nursing process and is organizationally accountable to the Patient Care Coordinator. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide technical care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to collect data and relays appropriate data to nurse and to provide the care needed.
Performance Expectations:
Accurately obtain and record in the electronic health record the patient vital signs, weights, intake and output as needed. Move equipment and patients utilizing safety measures for both yourself and/or the patient. Transfer and/or position patients utilizing safety measures for both yourself and/or the patient while maintaining dignity and respect for the patient Notifies nurse of any skin color & integrity concerns. I.e.…bruising, redness, rashes, skin tears or breakdown. Accurately use and operate the equipment you are assigned. Deliver care with respect and maintain confidentiality and dignity of the patient utilizing the We C.A.R.E philosophy Provide personal hygiene for patients needing assistance and record in the electronic health record. Follows Isolation Policy and Procedures. Maintain a positive attitude at all times and work as a team member and not alone while caring for patients. Complete walking rounds with oncoming shift at each shift change and include the patient in the shift change report. Attend all mandatory staff meetings and education events. Deliver and pick up meal trays at assigned times during the time allowed to complete the task. Answer call lights and obtain assistance of others if unable to attend the patient's needs by self. Respond to call light immediately even while walking by a room and hear it. Report to work during emergency operation events as contacted to report to duty. Pick up and organize patient rooms every shift and as needed. Perform entrance screening as assigned during emergency operations of pandemic
Qualifications:
Education/Skills Diploma/GED required. Certification/Licensure-DUE
UPON HIRE
Certified Nurse Aid Certificate-Preferred Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below Basic Life Support Within 30
Days of Employment Required Work Experience:
CNA or 6 months Nurse Aide/Healthcare Experience preferred.
Mental Demands:
Ability to perform as a team member, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely, demonstrates initiative, and function under stress.
