Job Description

•Will not take an in-state traveler, unless they exceed a 250-mile radius.•Job Summary The Acute Care CNA provides nursing care for patients during a specific work period. the CNA functions in a structured care setting described as geographic and/or situational environments where the policies and procedures for provision of health care are established. The CNA has knowledge relative to the age of patients served. Under the supervision of professional nursing staff, administers nursing care to patients on Med/Surg. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote comfort and independence Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation according to HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing techniques like aseptic procedures and memory care strategies Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with catheter care or other medical-surgical procedures as trained Collaborate with nursing staff in acute care settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers, contributing to patient safety during critical moments Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and infectious disease care practices Support patients in behavioral health or hospice care programs by offering emotional support and ensuring comfort during sensitive times Assist with patient transfers using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs in inpatient or outpatient settings Document patient interactions accurately in medical records while respecting patient privacy under HIPAA guidelines Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current state licensure or registration Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental delays, or in long-term care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living communities Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for medical documentation and patient service records Experience providing dementia or Alzheimer's care using specialized techniques for memory support and behavioral health management Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to patient care across diverse medical settings including ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and post-acute care Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) procedures accurately and confidently in urgent or acute situations Strong communication skills for working effectively with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with patients of all ages—children through seniors Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments such as hospital medicine units or outpatient clinics while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety Join us in delivering exceptional patient-centered care!
