Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using tools like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support medication administration under the supervision of nursing staff, ensuring proper documentation in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments through personalized engagement and safety measures. Assist with complex clinical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy, aseptic techniques, and infection control protocols in various settings including hospitals with Level I Trauma Centers or ICU units. Support patient transfers and positioning using equipment like Hoyer lifts or beds designed for acute or sub-acute care environments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in diverse settings such as long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, outpatient clinics, or home & community care programs to deliver comprehensive patient service. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Experience working in medical environments such as hospitals (including ICU or emergency medicine), nursing homes, hospice care, or outpatient clinics. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS). Prior experience with specialized care areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics (including PICU), behavioral health, or infectious disease care is highly desirable. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting patients safely and maintaining aseptic techniques during procedures. Strong communication skills to effectively document patient information and collaborate with healthcare teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
