Job Summary:

Oneida Health is currently seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to care for residents at our Rehabilitation and Extended Care Facility in Oneida, NY. The ideal candidate will provide residents with a high level of care, working both independently and collaboratively with a team. Key responsibilities include assisting residents with daily activities, maintaining a clean environment, and communicating effectively with supervisors and registered nurses.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support staff to ensure residents' needs are met. Demonstrate excellnt interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and compassion, when interacting with residents and their families. Maintain accurate records of residents' health status and care provided, paying keen attention to detail. Create and maintain a clean and healthy environment for residents by adhering to infection control protocols and sanitation standards. Recognize signs and symptoms of illness in residents and promptly report them to supervisors. Report instances of abuse, mistreatment, or neglect to appropriate authorities in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Show compassion and dignity when caring for dying residents, ensuring their comfort and attending to their personal needs. Communicate effectively with registered nurses, conveying any concerns or changes in residents' conditions. Other job related duties as assigned by the management.

Qualifications:

Education:

Completion of a Nurses Aide Training Program OR Graduation from an

Accredited RN or LPN Program License/Certifications:

New York Certified Nursing Assistant (Required) BLS Certification (Preferred)

Required Skills and Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and compassion. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Compassion for residents, especially those in vulnerable situations. Ability to recognize and respond to signs of distress or illness in residents. Commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality and privacy. Willingness to adhere to ethical standards and report any concerns promptly.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move residents with assistance. Stamina and endurance to work long shifts and perform physical tasks. Manual dexterity for assisting residents with ADLs and performing other duties.

Skills:
