Seasonal - Student PCT I - ICU - Per Diem

Job Summary Seeking seasonal PCTs for the summer employment beginning as early as May 26th and running through August 15th. Healthcare and Nursing students encourage to apply. Minimum commitment 12 hours every two weeks, one weekends shift a month. Opportunity for additional hours. Ideal for students who want to stay employed and work during their fall and spring breaks. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists the nursing staff in the provision of basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients, i.e., personal hygiene, activities of daily living and mobility. Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. May be required to transport medications as defined and authorized by Pharmacy Services. Core Job Responsibilities Under the direction/supervision of a charge nurse, assists the nursing staff in provision of basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients, i.e., personal hygiene, activities of daily living and mobility. Assists in the maintenance of safe and clean environments. May be required to transport medications as defined and authorized by Pharmacy Services. Correctly identifies patients prior to performing interventions or care. Reports any changes or concerns of patients and families to the primary caregiver. Observes, collects, documents and reports intake and output, vital signs (temperature, radial pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and weights Provides bathing, oral and hair care, bed making, ambulation and positioning, and toileting. High School graduate or equivalent Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED

Basic life support and behavior management training to be completed by end of a probationary period and maintained while in position.
