In this vital role, you will provide essential support to nursing staff and deliver high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using tools like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care activities and behavioral health support. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy, and wound care in various settings including hospitals, clinics, assisted living facilities, or home care environments. Maintain infection control standards by practicing proper aseptic techniques and adhering to protocols for infectious disease care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in high-acuity environments such as ICU, Level I Trauma Centers, or pediatric units like PICU and Neonatal ICU to deliver comprehensive patient service. Requirements Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the state of employment. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (emergency medicine, medical-surgical units), nursing homes, or outpatient clinics. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical documentation practices. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate patient record management. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays across settings like assisted living or home & community care. Critical care experience such as ICU or Level II Trauma Center experience is highly valued. Strong caregiving skills with a focus on geriatrics, pediatrics (including working with children), behavioral health, or post-acute care environments. Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
