Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, maintaining detailed medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support. Assist with complex clinical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy, and infection control practices in accordance with hospital protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings like medical-surgical units, ICU, pediatric units (PICU), or behavioral health facilities to deliver comprehensive patient service. Support discharge planning and home & community care initiatives by educating patients and families about post-acute care needs. Utilize EMR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks to document patient information accurately and efficiently. Respond promptly to urgent care situations or emergencies using basic life support skills and trauma center protocols. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection prevention standards and utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts safely. Working knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and sterile procedures.
