This role ensures high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, staff development, and a positive community culture. The Executive Director serves as the primary leader and representative of the community to residents, families, staff, and external partners. Key Responsibilities1. Operational Leadership Oversee daily operations of the community, ensuring efficiency and excellence in service delivery Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors Ensure all departments (clinical, dining, housekeeping, activities, maintenance) are functioning effectively 2. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing assisted living facilities Maintain readiness for inspections and surveys Implement and monitor policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards 3. Resident Care & Satisfaction Promote a resident-centered care approach that enhances quality of life Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally Monitor service delivery to ensure residents' needs are consistently met 4. Financial Management Develop and manage the community budget Monitor revenue, expenses, and occupancy goals Drive census growth through collaboration with sales/marketing efforts Ensure proper billing, payroll, and financial controls are in place 5. Staff Leadership & Development Recruit, hire, train, and supervise department heads and staff Foster a positive work culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and service excellence Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and disciplinary action when necessary Ensure proper staffing levels and compliance with labor standards 6. Sales & Marketing Support occupancy goals through community outreach and relationship building Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the community Participate in tours, networking events, and community partnerships 7. Risk Management & Safety Ensure implementation of safety programs and emergency preparedness plans Monitor incident reports and implement corrective actions Maintain a secure environment for residents and staff Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field (required or preferred) Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience in assisted living, senior housing, or healthcare Prior experience managing budgets, staff, and operations Bilingual Spanish Licensure/Certification Assisted Living Administrator License (if required by state) CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred) Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and decision-making abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of assisted living regulations and best practices Financial acumen and budget management skills Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities Compassionate, service-oriented mindset Working Conditions Fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with residents, families, and staff May require evening, weekend, and on-call availability Ability to respond to emergencies as needed Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout the community Occasional lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
