Activities Director - Memory Care Aravilla Assisted Living and Memory Care Full-Time

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our residents by promoting social engagement, physical activity, and mental stimulation. We are currently seeking a passionate and creative Activities Director to join our team and lead our residents in meaningful and enriching activities.
  • Job Summary:
  • The Activities Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive activities program that meets the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of our residents. This role requires a compassionate and enthusiastic individual who can create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and foster community involvement among residents, families, and staff.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of recreational, educational, and social activities tailored to the interests and capabilities of residents.
Assess the individual needs and preferences of residents through observations and regular interactions. Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and family members to enhance programming and engage residents effectively. Schedule regular activities, ensuring a balanced mix of physical, cognitive, and creative opportunities that promote overall well-being. Maintain records of activities, attendance, and residents' feedback to evaluate and improve programming continuously. Manage the budget for the activities department, ensuring that resources are used effectively and expenditures remain within budgetary constraints. Facilitate outings and community engagement opportunities, coordinating transportation and logistics as needed. Promote an inclusive environment, encouraging residents to participate actively in planning and decision-making regarding activities. Train and supervise activity assistants and volunteers, fostering a supportive and collaborative team atmosphere. Ensure all activities meet safety guidelines and standards, maintaining a safe environment for all participants.
  • Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in an activities/program director role, ideally within an assisted living or senior care environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine passion for working with seniors. Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop engaging and meaningful programs. Knowledge of the needs and challenges facing seniors, including physical and cognitive limitations. Ability to foster a team-oriented environment, collaborating effectively with staff and families. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using technology for scheduling and communication needs. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hiring.
