Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Memory Care to lead and oversee our specialized memory care programs within assisted living and long-term care communities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in dementia and Alzheimer's care, and a deep understanding of senior and resident-centered services. This role involves managing daily operations, supervising staff, developing care plans, and ensuring the highest quality of life for residents with memory impairments. The Director of Memory Care will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive environment tailored to residents' unique needs. Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of individualized care plans for residents with dementia or other memory impairments. Supervise and mentor staff members, including caregivers, nurses, and support personnel, ensuring adherence to care standards and regulatory requirements. Oversee daily operations within the memory care unit, including staffing schedules, resource allocation, and compliance with safety protocols. Coordinate medication administration and monitor residents' health status in collaboration with healthcare providers. Foster a compassionate environment that promotes dignity, independence, and engagement for residents with Alzheimer's , dementia , or developmental disabilities. Manage budgets, oversee operations management , and ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining high-quality care standards. Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and community agencies to support residents' well-being and transition planning. Ensure compliance with state regulations related to long-term care , home & community care , and assisted living standards. Lead initiatives for staff training on memory care , social work , behavioral management techniques, and emergency procedures. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through staff development programs and resident feedback. Requirements Proven experience in assisted living , nursing home , or retirement home settings with a focus on memory care or dementia care . Extensive background in long term care , home & community care , or group home environments involving seniors or individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong leadership skills with prior supervising experience in healthcare or social services management. Knowledge of care plans , medication management, behavioral interventions, and safety protocols specific to residents with cognitive impairments. Demonstrated ability in operations management , budgeting, and financial acumen within healthcare settings. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with residents' families, healthcare teams, and community partners. Relevant certifications such as nursing license or social work credentials are preferred but not mandatory; however, experience in nursing or social work is highly valued. Compassionate approach combined with organizational skills to lead a team dedicated to providing exceptional resident-centered care.
