Experience working with individuals with disabilities, chronic conditions, substance abuse disorders, and LTSS is essential. In some states, a bachelor's degree in a health care related field may be required. You should possess an active and unrestricted license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Master Social Worker (LMSW), Advanced Practice Social Worker (APSW), Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Doctor of Psychology (PhD or PsyD), or an equivalent based on state requirements. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and adequate auto insurance are also required. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, responsive in all communications, able to remain calm in high-pressure situations, and adept at developing professional relationships while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Problem-solving skills are crucial. In some states, at least one year of experience working directly with individuals with substance use disorders is required. Certified Case Manager (CCM) and experience working with populations that receive waiver services are preferred.
