Job Description
Position Summary The Wellness Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and regulatory compliance of the wellness department within the community. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality resident care through effective clinical oversight, staff leadership, care planning, and collaboration with residents, families, healthcare providers, and community team members. The Wellness Director promotes a resident-centered approach to care that supports the physical, emotional, social, and overall well-being of each resident while maintaining compliance with all applicable Personal Care Home and/or Assisted Living regulations. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight of the community's wellness programs and resident care services. Supervise, mentor, and support direct care staff to ensure the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service and care plans based on resident assessments and changing needs. Ensure compliance with all state regulations, company policies, and healthcare standards related to Personal Care and Assisted Living operations. Maintain accurate resident records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements. Monitor the wellness department for ongoing regulatory readiness and quality assurance. Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support positive resident outcomes. Assist the Administrator in maintaining community compliance, risk management initiatives, and survey preparedness. Manage staffing schedules and labor resources to ensure appropriate coverage while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Provide training, coaching, and performance management for wellness team members and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Participate in resident admissions, assessments, care conferences, and service plan reviews. Support emergency preparedness efforts and respond appropriately to resident care concerns or incidents. Qualifications Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) preferred; equivalent experience in Personal Care, Assisted Living, or senior living leadership may be considered. Minimum of two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience in a Personal Care Home, Assisted Living, Senior Living, or healthcare setting preferred. Demonstrated experience managing direct care staff, staffing schedules, and resident care operations. Strong knowledge of state Personal Care Home and/or Assisted Living regulations. Experience developing and overseeing individualized resident care plans. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and healthcare documentation. Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and resident confidentiality requirements. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and healthcare partners.
