Diablo Adult Education's Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) is seeking Full-Time Instructor for the Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program at our Concord campus. No holidays or weekends required! Position is 30 hours a week M-F. Position starts as soon as filled. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor provides instruction and preparation for certification. The CNA Instructor's primary responsibility includes planning, teaching and evaluating course participants in the classroom and clinical externship skills performance, leading to successful completion.
Schedule:
Full-time, average of 24 to 30 hours per week minimum of 1,050 hours per school year (Sept- June). Program teaches three cohorts per year.
Instructional Responsibilities:
Be responsible for the overall achievement, welfare, and conduct of students within the program. Be committed to student-centered teaching and learning strategies. Provide quality instruction based on California Department of Public Health (CDPH) approved curriculum (syllabi, lesson plans, lecture material, lab activities, student resources, and assessments). Supervise students on site during clinical externship days (travel in personal vehicle is required). Communicate and meet regularly with program staff, CTEC Coordinators, and MDAE administrators. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and administrators. Pursue professional development opportunities in education and nursing regularly. Model professional standards of behavior, ethics, communication, and teamwork. Minimum Qualifications :
A current California LVN• or RN license is required. A minimum total of three (3) years work experience as a nurse or nursing instructor, or a combination of both, with at least one year's experience working in a long term care facility. One year of experience in "Planning, Implementing, and Evaluation Education Programs in Nursing" Or Proof of 24-hour California Board of registered Nurses approved course certificate of completion for "Planning, Implementing, and Evaluation Education Programs in Nursing" Or Transcript from an accredited educational institute of a course(s) in "Planning, Implementing, and Evaluation Education Programs in Nursing" Must hold or meet the qualifications to obtain California Designated Subjects Teaching Credential for Adult Education. (See ctc.ca.gov/credentials/CREDS/adult-voc-ed.html) Be committed to student success, establish a supportive and safe learning environment, have excellent people skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Ability to use a computer to communicate via email, correspond with students, input grading, take attendance and create Microsoft documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). •This position can be combined with the Certified Nursing Assistant Program Director position, but individual must hold a current CA RN license.
