to 24 hours a week The Adjunct RN Simulation Instructor is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and facilitating simulation-based learning experiences for nursing students. The instructor uses simulation technology and evidence-based teaching strategies to create realistic clinical scenarios that promote clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and safe patient care. The instructor collaborates with nursing faculty to ensure simulation activities are aligned with course objectives, clinical learning outcomes, and the nursing program curriculum. The position is responsible for facilitating simulation experiences and conducting structured debriefing to promote student reflection and clinical reasoning. This position reports directly to the Dean of Nursing and is hired by the Dean of Nursing.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, prepare, and facilitate simulation-based learning experiences aligned with nursing course objectives and student learning outcomes. Collaborate with nursing faculty and Block/Course Coordinators to identify appropriate simulation activities and clinical learning objectives. Develop realistic simulation scenarios using high- medium
- and low-fidelity simulation technology, standardized patients, role-playing, and other simulation methodologies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Strong knowledge of professional nursing practice and clinical patient care. Knowledge of simulation-based nursing education and clinical judgment development. Ability to develop and facilitate realistic, engaging, and educational simulation scenarios. Strong debriefing and facilitation skills. Ability to evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback. Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with simulation technology, Learning Management Systems, and related computer applications. Ability to work collaboratively with nursing faculty and academic leadership. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to student success, patient safety, and continuous professional development. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current, active, and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license . Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of professional nursing experience . Recent direct patient-care experience as a Registered Nurse preferred. Previous experience in nursing education, simulation education, clinical instruction, or precepting preferred. Experience with high- medium
- or low-fidelity simulation technology preferred.
