Full Job Description Program Goal:
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for entry level employment as a surgical technologist. This program provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the surgical technology field. Duties include preparing students to pass the certified surgical technology certified exam.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver classroom lessons, and labs Taking attendance accurately on a daily basis Creating exams, quizzes, and assignments in a multilevel, differentiated instruction environment Supervising and facilitating student learning and hands-on practice Monitoring student progress Actively participating in the recruitment of students for the program Be able to build and maintain relationships with industry professionals and employers as well as plan and conduct bi-annual advisory committee meetings Be able to retain students and ensure that at least 70% complete the program Actively participate in the placement of students who complete the program Be able to participate in several career fairs every year Be able to participate in monthly school meetings Staying apprised of changes in the field so that they can be incorporated into educational program. Managing the classroom by enforcing the rules and teaching safety procedures
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
