Adjunct instructors play a vital role in the program's overall instruction. Adjunct instructors bring with them a variety of backgrounds and professional experiences which serve to foster growth in the program and enrich student learning. Adjunct instructors are responsible for structuring and supervising the learning experiences of students in the classroom, labs and in clinical agencies. Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with an Iowa license, have worked for two full-time years as an RN, or have a health related degree. Adjunct instructors will provide instruction and supervision in the CNA course. The typical schedule for this position will be Monday and Wednesdays from 8-9:45 AM, Friday's 8-9:47 AM at the Marengo Public Library. Clinicals will take place during the month of November and early December during evening and weekends (flexible to instructor's schedule). Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions scheduled intermittently based on institutional need. Adjuncts are not guaranteed work in any semester and are notified of course assignments prior to each term as courses become available.UNIVERSAL CORE COMPETENCIES

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively teach assigned courses Serve as a professional role model Assist students in achieving course objectives Set up and take down classroom materials and equipment as needed. Provide discipline in the classroom as needed. Prepare lessons and presentations for continuing education and credit classes. Maintain necessary required records. Assist in promotion and support of the program including recruitment activities. Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of communications within the program, the College and community. Establish a means of being accessible to meet individual student needs. Provide grade reports and feedback to the students in a timely manner. Perform other related work duties as assignedPERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates professional role modeling for students, professional appearance and positive attitude. Maintains familiarity with policies and protocols of the program, college and clinical agencies. Be knowledgeable concerning the latest trends and issues in Nurse Aide/Vocational Health education. Provides student instruction for the full required hours, utilizing instructional time effectively. Assumes responsibility, is prompt and dependable in attendance, and effectively applies problem-solving skills. Assists students in identifying strengths/areas for improvement. Acts as a facilitator of learning' discusses, questions, and directs student learning. Expresses high expectations of student performance concurrent with course objectives. Prepares instruction to coincide with curriculum content and student learning needs. Explains expectations to students; supervises and documents performance; keeps students informed of their progress. Provides immediate feedback to students regarding performance. Maintains confidentiality with patients, students, agency, and college. Represents the college/program in a positive manner. Establishes rapport with agency personnel and colleagues. Maintains communication with course instructors, clinical facilities, and the Instructor/Coordinator. Position involves sitting, standing and/or walking most of the time in a classroom/laboratory/clinic setting. Constant (67-100%) reaching, standing, walking, lifting, dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and viewing various types of close visual work. Frequent (34-66%) stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, and perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching. Exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally (10-33%). Will travel to other on-campus facilities, off-campus facilities and agencies to teach, attend meetings, etc.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with an Iowa license, have worked for two full-time years as an RN, or have a health related degree. Must be able to demonstrate all technical skills required of students.
