The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in nursing, clinical practice, and higher education teaching to facilitate the development of future nursing professionals. This role involves delivering comprehensive instruction and supervising students in clinical settings to ensure the highest standards of nursing education. The Practical Nurse Instructor will play a vital role in preparing students for successful careers in various healthcare environments, including hospitals, clinics, and community care settings. Responsibilities Deliver engaging classroom instruction on nursing fundamentals, medical terminology, patient care, and specialized areas. Supervise students during clinical rotations in teaching hospitals and healthcare facilities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and educational objectives. Assess student performance through documentation review, practical evaluations, and written examinations; provide constructive feedback for improvement. Guide students in developing care plans and understanding documentation procedures relevant to various healthcare settings. Collaborate with hospital staff and healthcare professionals to ensure clinical experiences meet educational standards and industry requirements. Maintain compliance with accreditation standards and institutional policies regarding higher education teaching. Requirements Current and valid Louisiana state RN license ; Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience; At least one year as a medical-surgical hospital staff nurse and/or current teaching experience in a Nursing Program. Ability to teach theory and clinical courses. Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach complex concepts effectively across different learner levels.
