A Nursing Instructor or Professor teaches nursing students with a combination of classroom instruction and clinical training. Teaches academic subjects needed as the foundation for nursing, such as anatomy and chemistry, and also job skills required for direct patient care. Teaches at a college or in a hospital or other clinical setting.
Under the direction of the Dean or Assistant Dean of Nursing, the faculty member will teach selected specific nursing course for the semester and carry out other job-related duties as assigned. Essential responsibilities related to course assignment include but are not limited to: student advising; curriculum development; collaborating with other faculty members in the planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating of courses, programs, and degrees; participating as pertinent in the annual review and revision of course materials, such as outlines, outcomes, books, and assignments; participating in assessment and program review requirements; maintaining currency and awareness of changes within and those effecting the discipline; demonstrating motivation, self-direction, and perseverance toward achieving the philosophy and mission of the Division of Nursing and Quincy College. This position may require teaching at all campuses and sites of the College.
EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE
: At least a Masters Degree in Nursing preferably in nursing education or Baccalaureate in Nursing and Masters in related health field. Must hold a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing Must have developed and maintained competence appropriate to teaching responsibilities Possess a minimum of two years full-time experience in nursing, or its equivalent, within the last five years and

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Experience in use of multimedia teaching strategies, and assessment of learning including test construction is preferred Experience in teaching in academia or as nurse educator preferable Experience using technology in the classroom, and traditional/nontraditional methods of instruction. Experience instructing students from a diverse background.
