Posting Details Position Information Title Welding Instructor Full or Part Time Full Time Number of Months 12 Months Proposed Date of Employment 08/10/2026 Work Schedule varies based on student needs Permanent or Temporary Permanent Salary Band Commensurate with education and experience Position Summary Information Position Summary In support of Isothermal Community College, the Welding Instructor is responsible for providing a high-quality learning experience for all College students. The instructor will teach Welding courses; provide high quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations; perform instructional-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the College; the instructor will also demonstrate a commitment to the Learning College concept, assessment, cooperative learning, and student advising Responsibilities Develop course outlines and teaching materials based on the state curriculum standards and make changes to the curriculum as needed Facilitate the delivery of courses in the Welding program each academic year Deliver a full-time teaching load providing a combination of traditional, internet, and hybrid classes as needed for the academic year including teaching evening and weekend courses Serve as a curriculum and career development advisor to Welding students Conduct classroom observations of adjunct faculty in coordination with the Dean Serve on various college committees and community organizations Serve as an ambassador in the community for the College and the Welding programs Assist and consult with the Dean, upon request Perform expectations of a faculty member as stated in the Full Time Faculty Job Description Other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities Develop an understanding and appreciation of the mission, history, current programs, services and goals of Isothermal Community College Ability to work with others and describe technical issues to non-technical personnel Ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels and in a variety of work environments Excellent customer service skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be highly organized Excellent technical analysis and problem-solving skills Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Ability to monitor and assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one Must work well independently and within a small team to support the division's infrastructure Display initiative, flexibility, and the ability to determine priorities; ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and accomplish goals within set time and financial limits without undue stress Ability to work effectively under pressure and with a minimum of supervision Minimum Qualifications Field experience and demonstrated competency in welding Preferred Qualifications An associate's degree in welding technology Community College teaching experience Posting Detail Information Open Date 07/17/2026 Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Additional Information Isothermal Community College provides educational and employment opportunities without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, veteran status, or disability.
