Part-time Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Instructor - Grand Forks

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT
This is a part-time, non-benefited, working as needed, and flexible around the trainer's schedule. Work hours are scheduled collaboratively.
BACKGROUND CHECK
LRSC requires a successful background check for the selected candidate before starting employment. Additionally, North Dakota Health and Human Services, Health Facilities Unit, will need to review and approve the selected candidate's CV or Resume before becoming an approved CNA instructor.
JOB SUMMARY
TrainND Northeast is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor to teach a 32-hour, in-person skills and simulated clinical course for CNA students. This position plays a vital role in preparing the next generation of nursing assistants through hands-on training, demonstration, and assessment of core CNA competencies. This role offers meaningful opportunities for nursing professionals to share their expertise, support workforce development, and make a direct impact on patient care in the community - without long-term or full-time commitments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong clinical background, and the ability to foster a supportive learning environment where students can gain the skills and confidence needed to provide quality patient care. While prior teaching experience is preferred, we will consider training an otherwise qualified nursing professional who demonstrates strong clinical skills and a passion for education. This position is ideal for a nursing professional who is seeking flexible, part-time educational work. Key Responsibilities Teach a 32-hour in-person skills and simulated clinical curriculum that meets North Dakota and institutional requirements, ensuring that all course material is covered thoroughly and effectively. Deliver the 32-hour course during daytime weekday class periods, class periods may range from 2 to 8 hours per day, and the 32-hour course must be delivered in 3 consecutive weeks or less. Offer guidance and mentorship to students, addressing questions and concerns while fostering a positive learning environment. Follow the established curriculum and maintain up-to-date knowledge of CNA practices and standards to ensure compliance with educational requirements. Conduct skills demonstrations, supervise simulated practice sessions, assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and document skill mastery. Maintain accurate attendance, evaluation, and grading records. Timely communication and coordination with program administration to ensure CNA classes run smoothly and in compliance, including communication related to scheduling, documentation, student progress, curriculum requirements, and program logistics. Report equipment and supply issues or needs to the administrative staff and ensure proper clean-up during and after each class.
Minimum Requirements:
An active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Dakota. A minimum of two years of nursing experience, with at least one year in a long-term care facility setting. Demonstrated comfort using common instructional technology, including computers, mobile devices, projectors, smart boards, and audio-visual equipment. Proficiency and confidence in using email, Microsoft PowerPoint, web browsers, and instructional video platforms. Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions. Experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides, or completion of a course in teaching adults. Ability to adjust work hours when required to support course delivery. Efficient time management to balance instruction, classroom activities, and administrative tasks.

A flat rate of $1,400 will be paid for successful delivery of the 32-hour in-person course , including preparation, instruction, and evaluation.
