Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Program Director/Program Administrator, the Nursing Instructor - CNA/CMA Competency Testing is responsible for administering and evaluating official competency examinations for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA) candidates in accordance with Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) regulations, approved testing procedures, and Quality Career Pathways policies. This position ensures all competency examinations are conducted with fairness, consistency, professionalism, and integrity while maintaining examination security and compliance with all applicable regulatory standards. The Nursing Instructor accurately evaluates candidate performance, completes required documentation, and submits examination results as required by state guidelines. As a valued member of the instructional team, this position also offers opportunities for professional growth. As Quality Career Pathways continues to expand, individuals in this role may have the opportunity to transition into or supplement their responsibilities with classroom and clinical instruction for CNA, CMA, and other healthcare training programs, based on organizational needs, qualifications, and individual interest. Essential Functions Administer official CNA and CMA competency examinations in accordance with Nebraska state regulations and Quality Career Pathways policies. Objectively evaluate candidate performance using state-approved competency standards and scoring criteria. Ensure all testing is conducted in a fair, consistent, secure, and unbiased manner. Verify candidate eligibility and identity prior to testing. Accurately observe, score, document, and submit examination results. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all examination materials and candidate information. Communicate examination procedures and expectations clearly to candidates. Maintain current knowledge of state regulations, testing procedures, and healthcare standards. Collaborate with the Program Director and instructional team to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Report testing irregularities, security concerns, or candidate misconduct according to established procedures. Assist in maintaining testing equipment, supplies, and laboratory readiness. Participate in instructor meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives. When opportunities arise, assist with classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction for healthcare training programs in accordance with state regulations and Quality Career Pathways curriculum. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be able to work independently.
