A Nursing Instructor or Professor teaches nursing students with a combination of classroom instruction and clinical training. Teaches academic subjects needed as the foundation for nursing, such as anatomy and chemistry, and also job skills required for direct patient care. Teaches at a college or in a hospital or other clinical setting.
Kent State University Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track faculty position to teach undergraduate medical-surgical nursing in an ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited associate degree nursing program at the Twinsburg Academic Center. Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: The successful candidate will teach in a variety of settings, including lectures, clinicals, skill and simulation labs in medical-surgical nursing in the ADN curriculum. Minimum Qualifications:
Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio. Master of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited/approved nursing program. Two years of nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications - if applicable:
Master's degree in Nursing with a specialty in medical-surgical or adult nursing care. Previous undergraduate teaching experience preferred. Experience in nursing education or advanced medical-surgical nursing is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
