A Nursing Instructor or Professor teaches nursing students with a combination of classroom instruction and clinical training. Teaches academic subjects needed as the foundation for nursing, such as anatomy and chemistry, and also job skills required for direct patient care. Teaches at a college or in a hospital or other clinical setting.
$45.00 Shifts may be 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on facility, availability, and preference.

Clinical site assignment locations throughout VA and TN with a concentration in Roanoke, Danville, VA and Nashville, TN. Must be available to be physically present in clinical sites with students-this is not a remote position. Position Summary The College of Nursing at American National University invites applications for adjunct clinical faculty to conduct Medical-Surgical and specialty clinical rotations at placement sites in VA and TN for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence in practice in the field and a commitment to serving the university's adult student body. This position primarily works with the Academic Program Director, along with course faculty within the program, and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and student success. Essential Job Duties Lead sessions at clinical placement sites. Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various patient assessment activities. Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment. Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable. Provide feedback to the course lead regarding student progress. Provide student feedback on a regular basis. Identify at-risk students and collaborate with course faculty and clinical coordinator as necessary.
Qualifications Required:
Clinical nursing faculty shall hold one of the following: (1) A graduate degree in nursing; (2) A baccalaureate degree in nursing and be actively enrolled in a graduate degree program; or (3) A baccalaureate degree in nursing and hold alternative graduate credentials. (Clinical nursing faculty with a graduate degree other than in nursing must hold a baccalaureate degree in nursing with an active license) At least two years of continuous clinical bedside nursing experience in an acute care setting or Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) unit, with inclusion of subacute or post-acute institutions, within the last 5 years. Must have a current, unencumbered state license ot practice nursing in either VA or TN or hold an active unencumbered Multistate Registered Nursing license.
Preferred:
MSN degree from a nationally accredited or regionally accredited university. 1+ years of higher education teaching experience in a nursing program or clinical setting.
