Job Description

Adjunct faculty are vital members of the academic community and areexpected to uphold the College's mission of integrity, service, and innovation in nursing.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Teach assigned courses in classroom, lab, and/or clinical settings, aligning instruction with course outcomes and programobjectives. Translate nursing theory into applied learning with specialty focus and industry-relevant student and facultymentorship. Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback. Incorporate evidence-based, activelearning and simulation strategies that enhance clinical judgment and critical thinking (including Next Gen NCLEX-aligned content). Maintain accurate course records and ensure compliance with all institutional and state board documentation requirements. Collaborate with full-time faculty to ensure curriculum consistency and integrity. Participate in faculty orientation,professional development, and relevant departmental meetings. Model professionalism, cultural competence, and commitment tolifelong learning.
EDUCATIONAL OR OTHER HIRING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution with a terminal degree (DNP or PhD in Nursing) from a CCNE accreditedinstitution preferred. Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina (or eligibility for licensure). Minimum of twoyears of recent clinical experience in a professional nursing setting. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness or clinical preceptorshipexperience. Proficiency in using online learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, or Brightspace or other proprietary system).Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Specialty certification oradvanced clinical expertise in one or more of the following areas: Women's Health, Urology, Public Health/ Community Health, Mental Health,or Medical-Surgical Nursing. Certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) or eligibility for certification. Experience with CCNEaccreditation or similar nursing program accreditation standards. Familiarity with Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) principles andcompetency-based curriculum design. Experience teaching diverse student populations and integrating inclusive teaching practices. Record ofprofessional scholarship, leadership, and/or service in nursing.
