Non-Exempt Essential Functions The Clinical Instructor has an integral role in the success of Vocational Nursing Students. This person is involved in the formation and implementation of clinical and laboratory skills graduates require as entry- level vocational nurses. This instructor will help create a positive and rewarding clinical/laboratory setting that promote and foster knowledge, skills, and ethical values of the profession.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities:
Reinforce skills after initial instruction by the faculty Set up and maintain the nursing skills laboratory Evaluate student competency in nursing skills Supervise and evaluate a clinical group at a healthcare facility Participate in recruitment activities as applicable
Other Duties:
Assist full-time faculty in monitoring, documenting, and maintaining required equipment, logs, and inventories in the clinic. Assist full-time faculty in grading assignments as needed. Assist full-time faculty in promoting the program and representing Coastal Bend College at community events.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold a current license or privilege to practice nursing in the State of Texas; have been actively employed in nursing for the past three (3) years; and have had three (3) years of varied nursing experiences since graduation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing.
Supplemental Information Travel Requirements:
Travel may be required for affiliation agreements and networking.
Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office setting with frequent interruptions and changes in the workflow/volume. May require some outdoor work for CBC events.
