Job Description

The Lead Nurse Aide Instructor provides high-quality instruction in the Nurse Aide program in accordance with approved curriculum and institutional standards. This position is responsible for delivering classroom, skills lab, and clinical instruction to prepare students for state certification. The instructor supervises students in a clinical setting at assigned long-term care facilities, evaluates student performance, and maintains accurate records of attendance, grades, and skills progression. Working under the general direction of the program director, the Lead Nurse Aide Instructor collaborates on student progress, clinical coordination, scheduling of state examinations, and overall program effectiveness. This role supports workforce readiness by fostering essential healthcare skills, professional behaviors, and ethical patient care practices.

High School Diploma/GED required and a Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas required. Associate Degree in Nursing from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education preferred. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a long-term care facility or closely related field.
Preferred:
Proficiency with instructional technology or Blackboard Learning Management Systems (LMS). Knowledge of long-term care regulations and patient care standards Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to effectively present information in classroom and clinical settings Proficiency in diverse instructional methods (lecture, discussion, demonstration) Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage classroom, lab, and clinical experiences Skill in maintaining accurate student records and documentation Ability to learn LMS system Blackboard Deliver classroom, lab, and clinical instruction aligned with approved curriculum Supervise students in clinical settings at assigned long-term care facilities Develop and implement lesson plans that support student learning outcomes Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs Evaluate student performance through assessments, skills check-offs, and observations Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress Foster development of communication, critical thinking, and professional skills Collaborate with the program director on scheduling, clinical coordination, and student success Prepare students for the state nurse aide certification examination Complete required professional development, including training in adult learning principles Perform other duties as assigned
