This is a full-time faculty position responsible for teaching nursing theory, clinical practice, and simulation in a one-year Vocational Nursing certificate program, with additional responsibilities for coordinating clinical learning experiences. The faculty member plans, supervises, and evaluates student learning in the classroom, simulation lab, and assigned clinical healthcare facilities while ensuring effective coordination and communication with clinical partners. Responsibilities include delivering instructional content, assessing student performance in both didactic and clinical settings, and supporting simulation-based learning to enhance critical thinking and clinical decision-making. Additional duties include advising students, maintaining office hours, participating in college committees and professional development, and collaborating across departments to support student communication, computation, and problem-solving skills. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual-credit, blended, hyflex, and/or online courses. This position reports to the Program Director for Vocational Nursing and exercises no supervision.NOTE:
This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. Show evidence of teaching abilities and current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibilityExperience:
Three years of current experience in various nursing fields or advanced preparation in nursing, nursing education, and/or nursing administrationSpecial Requirement:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in TexasPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Masters degree in nursing from an accredited college or universityExperience:
Professional experience in post-secondary teaching in a Vocational Nursing programSELECTION CRITERIA

Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, colleagues, and clinical partners; 13. Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and clinical agencies to support program and student success; 14. Support departmental goals, college values, and initiatives that promote student engagement and success; 15. Establish and maintain positive, professional working relationships with colleagues, students, and community partners; 16. Provide caring, high-quality service by creating welcoming experiences, communicating clearly and proactively, addressing needs with professionalism and empathy, and ensuring individuals are thoughtfully connected to appropriate resources.WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical effort-restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis.Work environment-Minimal hazard/exposure:
