Full-time MISSION:
One Place helps survivors of sexual assault, rape, and domestic violence to heal and seek justice through Sexual Assault Forensic Examinations, Short-term Crisis Counseling, Advocacy, Public Outreach and Awareness, and Case Management Services.
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director of Victim Services, the SANE Nurse Manager is responsible for the agency's timely provision of sexual assault forensic examinations, medical records retention, delivery of expert testimony in criminal proceedings, and development of clinical policy. The SANE Nurse Manager is a key participant in the agency quality assurance program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a direct care provider during the day shift weekdays delivering forensic medical exams for pediatric, adolescent, and adult victims of sexual violence. Provides unbiased expert testimony in criminal proceedings where One Place conducted the forensic examination reviewing and interpreting reports. Provides records in compliance with the agency's subpoenas policy. Promotes a culture of excellence with the delivery of forensic examinations starting with the hotline call center and ending with survivor enrollment in crisis counseling. Recruits and trains independent contractors that provide hotline call center response and nurse examinations by exercising oversight of contractor performance offering feedback and an annual evaluation. Prepares and maintains nursing schedule for the sexual assault hotline and forensic examinations 24/7 operations each day of the year. Designs and oversees the agency's quality assurance program committee which includes both sexual assault, rape, and domestic violence working. Serves as the Chair of Community Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and represents One Place at PREA Committee (Prison Rape Elimination Program) led by the state Department of Corrections. Participates in community outreach and training programs working in partnership with the Director of Victims Services. Ensures that clinical examination rooms are properly stocked with medical supplies and working equipment needed for the practice with inventory tracked. Other duties which may be required from time to time to achieve ongoing program service excellence. Minimum Qualifications BSN from an accredited university/college and active unrestricted Registered Nurse licensed in Alabama. Completed
IAFN SANE
training certified to provide adult and pediatric forensic examinations. Demonstrated core competencies in sexual assault medical examinations, evidence collection and documentation, trauma informed care, court and legal proceedings, and IAFN standards. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience conducting SANE examinations and 3 years supervising nurses in a healthcare setting. A valid State of Alabama Driver's License, automobile insurance, and a functioning vehicle with the ability to travel throughout the One Place service area. Must pass background investigation and possess active professional liability insurance prescribed by One Place. Excellent oral, listening, writing, and data analysis skills are prerequisites.
