Job Description

This is a Full time, benefited position as a OR RN with Charge RN responsibilities over 10 OR surgery suites. The shift is a 12 hour day shift at 0600am - 0630pm, with call and some weekends are required. It is located at Scripps Green in Torrey Pines La Jolla. Why join Scripps Health?

The Charge OR RN role is responsible for the following: Manages unit staffing:
  • Assigns patient according to acuity, geography, staff competence, and continuity of care considerations
  • Manages assignments
  • Monitors productivity and forecasts future needs
  • Facilitates meal breaks
  • Serves as resource to staff and assists with patient care as necessary
  • Monitors staff workload and facilitates teamwork
  • Orients new staff to the unit Demonstrates effective communication
  • Gives and receives concise report at shift change
  • Obtains report from staff during the shift and assures problems have been managed.
  • Mentors interdisciplinary team communication
  • Facilitates resolution of conflict between staff members and/or patient and family
  • Facilitates collaboration between nursing staff and physicians
  • Provides regular positive and constructive feedback to staff
