House Supervisor Acute Hospital Full Time Night Shift 19-0730

Salary Range:

$54.17 - $74.66 Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity.

Position Summary:

Supervises, directs and coordinates the activities of the hospital when the Administrator and department directors are not present. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice. Remains flexible to changing systems. Treats patients, families, visitors, peers and physicians with consideration and respect. Works well under stress or with tight deadlines. principles when communicating with others. Maintains all principles of confidentiality according to District policy and as required by State and Federal agencies. Follows guidelines and practices identified in the Employee Handbook. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities within Nursing Department and the District when asked. Completes hospital-wide skills criteria annually. Complies with annual PPD testing. Maintains responsibility for own professional development.

Position Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides support and guidance for staff and is responsible for sharing information with appropriate directors. Works with directors providing expertise in off hours to problem solve as needed Maintains ability to perform clinical competencies and reviews annually. Staffs shifts appropriately and using fiscal responsibility. Assures staff has appropriate meal and rest breaks and documents when not able to provide relief. Demonstrates the knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Is able to interpret data about the patient's status to identify each patient's age specific needs and to provide the care needed appropriate to the patient's age group.

Essential Functions:

Maintains nursing license following the Scope of Practice for Registered Nursing Must have the ability to multi-task multiple job duties. Must have the ability to handle stressful situations and interact appropriately with staff, patients, visitors and physicians. Must have the ability to walk, sit or stand for prolonged periods. Must have the ability to assist staff on all Nursing units as well as having charge of the whole building. Must have the ability to perform multiple computer programs. Must have the ability to keyboard. Must have the ability to function as a team member within the department. Attends department meetings or obtains information through email. Provides input when needed. Accepts appropriate supervision.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

Current California license as an RN.

Experience:

At least 3 years acute care experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.

Certifications:

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through American Heart Association, or American Red Cross. NRP is preferred.

Skills/Ability:

Excellent clinical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills preferred. Exhibits the ability to organize work assignments and follow through with accuracy. Exercises good judgment, demonstrates initiative, emotional stability, tact and poise. LVMC reserves the right to modify the minimum requirements depending on the needs of the organization.
