Job Description

The Primary Care Nurse Supervisor assists the Clinic Manager in overseeing daily operations of the Family Medicine and Women's Health clinic. Responsibilities include training and evaluating clinical staff, scheduling, and being the department resource for electronic health record issues and workflow improvement. In addition to supervision exercised, the Nurse Supervisor is expected to maintain competencies required of a nurse to be able to assume patient care duties when needed. The Nurse Supervisor leads all back-office processes and is tasked with implementing changes based on standard of care, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement initiatives. The Primary Care nurse supervisor serves as the first point of contact on scheduled days for their staff and requires their regular in-person presence.
What You'll Do:
Works directly with the clinic manager to review ongoing assignments and evaluate priorities. Demonstrates a complete understanding of and supervises all back office functions in the Family Medicine Clinic (intake, medication refill/administration, message pools, etc.). This includes routinely working side by side staff and serves in their role to remain close to the work, to guide educational opportunities and workflow adjustments. Prepares staff schedules and assignments at least one month in advance, and according to budget and operational need; where appropriate flexes staff according to budget. Reviews Family Medicine Clinic staff timecards, corrects errors, and approves timecards according to policy. Independently manages various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, training, competency validation, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and schedules. Conducts annual competency training and evaluations for clinical staff (including CA, MA, LVN and RN competencies). Develops and updates onboarding task lists, including policies and procedures to review Conducts regular team meetings with staff to roll out new processes, improve upon existing processes and provide team wide updates. Records minutes and attendance as directed. Participates in Family Medicine clinic provider meetings, acts on feedback from providers with the assistance of the clinic manager and represents staff processes/expectations during provider meetings. Works with the Patient Access manager to adjust processes according to clinical or workflow related needs.

Qualifications:
State of California Registered Nurse license required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required. Associate's degree in nursing required. Bachelor's or Master's degree in healthcare profession preferred. Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required. Knowledge and experience in a Family Medicine setting strongly preferred. Supervisory or management experience preferred.
Job Information:
Full-time, 8 hour day shifts. Starting wage $63.72 to $77.23 based on qualifications.
