In this role, you will be responsible for providing continuous nursing care in the assigned area(s) in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Hospital and within the framework of established policies and procedures of the Department of Nursing Services in a behavioral health setting. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the clinical leadership, ongoing education, and coordination of all nursing personnel. As a key team member in the clinical area, the Nurse Manager promotes a climate of effective performance through role modeling, willingness to learn and teach, and availability to patients and staff. Organizes, manages and coordinates nursing services and will assure quality nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act. Functions as representative for the CNO, in the CNO's absence and is responsible for oversight of the Infection Control Coordinator and to address employee health issues. The Nurse Manager may serve as a Qualified Medical Professional (QMP) and/or a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to perform medical screens (Medical and Mental Health Component) to determine whether an individual has an emergency medical condition. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in psychiatric nursing, excellent management, communication skills, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
