Job Description

Join HCA Healthcare as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Orthopedic unit on night shift. You'll provide advanced bedside care to post-surgical and acute ortho patients, coordinating admissions, discharges, and patient flow. In this leadership role, you will support and guide night-shift staff, promote evidence-based practice, and ensure high standards of quality, safety, and patient-centered care. Collaborate closely with surgeons, therapists, and the care team while growing your skills in a supportive, learning-focused environment. Responsibilities Provide direct orthopedic nursing care to post-surgical and acute patients during night shifts Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure safe, timely care Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and post-op recovery; administer medications and treatments per orders Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans Serve as clinical resource and shift coordinator, supporting staff nurses and assisting with assignments Educate patients and families on procedures, post-op care, mobility, and discharge instructions Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality, and patient safety standards, including infection control Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record Respond to emergencies and rapid changes in patient status, initiating appropriate interventions Support ongoing performance improvement, mentoring, and evidence-based practice on the unit Required Skills Orthopedic nursing care Post-surgical care Care coordination Medication administration Electronic health records (EHR) Patient and family education Charge/shift coordination IV therapy and infusion skills Pain management Clinical leadership
