Overview:
Provides leadership in advancing professional nursing practice by delivering administrative oversight and structure to support high-quality patient care within the Department of Nursing and Patient Services. Responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of systems that promote professional practice and align with organizational and nursing goals. Maintains 24-hour accountability for unit operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective delivery of care. The Nurse Manager leads efforts to fulfill the organization's mission of exceptional patient care while advancing nursing's vision of excellence in autonomous, accountable practice grounded in patient advocacy, innovation, and collaboration within a culture of trust and teamwork.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) required. Current employees without an MSN must obtain the degree by December 2012 or as otherwise agreed upon with the VP/AVP. National nursing board certification in a specialty area required. Current employees without certification must obtain it as agreed upon with the VP/AVP. Minimum of five (5) years of professional nursing experience required. Must demonstrate leadership and management experience, including knowledge and application of: Advanced professional nursing practice Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes Nursing care delivery models Healthcare delivery systems Budgeting and financial processes
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida required.
Motor Vehicle Requirement:
None required.
