Job Description Summary:
Position Responsibilities Provides support and supervision of the procedural staff to ensure patient load time of 0730 and turnaround time of 30 minutes or less. Assists Nurse Manager in organizing and directing activities of the assigned unit as indicated by the Nurse Director. Reports back to Nurse Manager status of all procedural colleagues whether they are developing in their role appropriately so that evaluations can be completed accurately on a probationary and annual basis. Supervises and establishes new guidelines for the utilization of supplies in procedural spaces to prevent waste. Provides education to all staff to ensure that all colleagues remain current with best practice and competencies. Interprets the philosophy, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the department to all employees, patients and families. Staff management to include recruitment, retention, coaching, training, evaluation and development, as well as preparation and delegation of work schedules and workflow. This also includes assigning of preceptor. Demonstrates good judgment and knowledge of department needs in classifying and maintaining data. Responsible for the unit/s in the absence of the Nurse Manager. Responsible for projects/processes that are essential to the success of the unit. (Charging processes, new hire orientation, maintain statistical data, time/attendance and QI). Ensure vendor compliance with medical center and departmental policies. Actively participates and manages operations during emergency situations, including participation in disaster preparedness. Completes monthly schedules to ensure adequate staffing based on patient care, acuity, and workforce targets. Reviews, and approves time cards and makes timely edits in Kronos. Manages staffing on a regular basis. Assists the Nurse Manager & Director in ensuring compliance with establishedHRS/JCAHO
requirements. Supports the ongoing improvement of quality and performance metrics for nursing including, but not limited to core measures, hospital acquired infections, safety initiatives and the patient experience. Disseminates pertinent departmental information to staff as indicated. Organizes and presents 3 monthly staff meetings per calendar year. Holds a morning departmental huddle once per week. Meets with Nurse Manager daily to discuss pertinent information in the department so that it can be addressed appropriately. Meets with Nursing Director twice a week to discuss objectives for the department and the progress made towards those goals. Participates in weekend huddle call as assigned. Serves as a professional role model, coach, and resource for employees. Participates actively in Nursing and/or hospital committees and work groups and assists in the development and implementation of the units shared governance model. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications License/Registration/Certification Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida is required. BLS and ACLS required (ACLS not required for CCC). Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred. Experience Three years of Nursing leadership experience.Benefits:
