Role:
The Nurse Field Supervisor plays a vital leadership role in overseeing nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in various community and home health settings. This position involves coordinating nursing activities, managing field operations, and serving as a liaison between healthcare providers, patients, and administrative teams. The Nurse Field Supervisor is responsible for monitoring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies to maintain safety and quality standards. They provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to nursing personnel, fostering professional development and teamwork. Ultimately, this role ensures that Nurse Field Supervisorreceive compassionate, effective care while supporting the operational efficiency of nursing services in the field.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment. Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in home health, community health, or related settings. At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience in a nursing or healthcare environment. Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations. Ability to travel regularly to various field locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or higher. Certification in Case Management, Home Health, or Nursing Leadership (e.g., CCM, CHPN, or Nurse Executive certification). Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare management software. Demonstrated skills in quality improvement initiatives and staff development programs. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance billing processes related to home health services.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of nursing staff working in home health or community settings to ensure adherence to care plans and protocols. Conduct regular field visits to assess patient care quality, provide guidance to nursing staff, and address any clinical or operational issues. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to optimize patient outcomes and continuity of care. Manage scheduling, staffing assignments, and resource allocation to meet patient needs and organizational goals effectively. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations to nursing staff to promote professional growth and maintain high standards of care. Investigate and resolve patient or staff concerns promptly, maintaining a positive and supportive work environment. Prepare reports on field operations, patient outcomes, and staff performance for senior management review.
