Expect:
The labor and delivery clinical specialist is responsible for assuring our organization provides advanced nursing care to mothers and newborns. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep expertise in the nursing care of maternal and newborn patient populations. The position blends clinical excellence, education, collaboration, and leadership to promote optimal health outcomes for families.Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams—including nurses, neonatologists, pediatricians, obstetricians, and other healthcare professionals—to develop specialized care plans for patients.
- Provide education and guidance to nursing staff, patients, and families regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and care procedures across the organization.
- Remain current with the latest evidence-based practices in maternal and neonatal care. Participate in or lead initiatives, contribute to developing healthcare protocols, and help shape policies to improve patient outcomes within our Women's and Children's Service Line.
- Drive quality improvement projects and mentor staff to elevate standards of care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors' degree in NursingExperience:
6 years' related experienceLicenses/Certifications:
Current RN License from theState of Practice Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with substantial experience in maternal and newborn nursing.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills in the care of maternal and neonatal patients.
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of current research and best practices in maternal-newborn care.
- Commitment to quality improvement and staff mentoring.
