In conjunction with other executive leadership, participates in strategic planning, development implementation of hospital services, assuring appropriate resources for the delivery of care. Serves as senior spokesperson for the Nursing Department. Advises the senior leadership, the medical staff, board and other internal and external groups; by providing input about the implications and decision and change on the quality of patient care, on nursing practice and on nursing care providers. In conjunction with entity leadership, accountable for the design, implementation and systems for South Shore Hospital patient care policies and procedures to assure continuity and consistency of care delivery. Promotes and fosters a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, and the coordination of care among disciplines. Provides system leadership in the establishment and oversight credentialing/privileging policies for nurses and ensures compliance with such policies for nurses who seek to practice and who practice at South Shore Hospital. Accountable for the evaluation and development of practices, processes of care coordination at South Shore Hospital. Provides system leadership and direction for the development of strategies to promote the recruitment, retention, and recognition of excellence in Nursing. Participates as a member of hospital committees as appointed. Chairs, attends or participates in departmental meetings. Prepares and manages an annual budget for the Department of Nursing. Oversees application/termination process. Collaborates with educational nursing institutions in providing educational experiences at South Shore Hospital. Directs nursing staff consisting of Nursing Administrative Relief Supervisors, Nurse Managers, RN's, LPN's, ORT's, Nurse Aides and Administrative Secretary. Other duties as assigned.

Recent hospital/health system experience with direct responsibility for cost/revenue centers. Strong financial/analytical skills, verbal/written communication skills, problem identification and resolution skills, decision making ability, and the ability to develop/mentor management team. The ability to work with physicians, staff and professionals in multiple settings and locations and to promote diversity in the workplace. Well developed, planning, marketing, organization development and business skills. Current Illinois State Licensure. Master's Degree in Nursing. Five years of clinical and nursing administrative experience. Must be fully vaccinated forCOVID-19
The Chief Nurse Executive is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing the Department of Nursing who serve the immediate community, age one week old through their life span.
