RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Medical Assistants, and Nursing Leadership Staff Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing/ Nurse Manager to lead and oversee nursing operations across a diverse healthcare environment. This senior leadership role combines strategic oversight with hands-on clinical management to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. The Director of Nursing is responsible for guiding nursing staff, coordinating patient care services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving quality improvement initiatives. This leader will collaborate with executive leadership and interdisciplinary teams to optimize clinical outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and support a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategic Oversight Serve as a senior leader in organizational planning, budgeting, policy development, and decision-making related to clinical operations. Lead and supervise nursing staff across departments, fostering professional development, accountability, and high performance. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve patient outcomes, staff engagement, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with senior leadership and interdisciplinary teams to align nursing operations with organizational goals. Clinical Operations & Patient Care Oversee patient care delivery, including assessments, care planning, treatment coordination, and documentation. Ensure seamless patient transitions, discharge planning, and long-term care strategies in coordination with care teams. Maintain excellence in patient-centered care across specialties such as critical care, surgical services, geriatrics, behavioral health, and women's health (as applicable). Quality, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and payer regulations, including HIPAA, infection control standards, and patient safety requirements. Oversee quality assurance, risk management, utilization review, and outcomes management programs. Implement and maintain accreditation standards (e.g., NCQA) and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Monitor key performance indicators including patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and operational metrics. Staffing & Human Resource Management Develop and maintain workforce plans, including staffing models, recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies. Partner with HR to recruit, hire, train, and orient nursing staff and allied health professionals. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching, and implement development plans. Ensure staff maintain competency through ongoing education, training, and certification compliance. Financial & Operational Management Develop, monitor, and manage departmental budgets to ensure cost-effective operations. Integrate nursing considerations into financial planning, reimbursement models, and resource allocation. Utilize data and analytics to inform operational decisions and improve efficiency. Technology & Documentation Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation using EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth). Leverage data systems to analyze performance trends and support decision-making. Safety & Infection Control Enforce infection prevention protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Promote adherence to clinical best practices, including IV therapy, sterile procedures, and emergency response standards (BLS/CPR). Qualifications Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Master's degree (MSN, MHA, MBA, or related field) preferred Experience Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, with progressive leadership or management responsibility Experience in acute care settings such as hospitals, long-term care, or specialty units Background in critical care, emergency services, or trauma care highly desirable Licensure & Certifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state Current CPR/BLS certification Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge Nursing principles, clinical practices, and patient care standards Regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, infection control, and patient safety Quality assurance, risk management, and utilization management practices Medical terminology, physiology, and documentation standards (ICD-10/ICD-9) Skills Strong leadership and team management capabilities Expertise in workforce planning, performance management, and staff development Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems and healthcare data analysis Budgeting, financial oversight, and cost management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Abilities Ability to analyze complex data and make informed operational decisions Ability to collaborate effectively with executives, providers, and support staff Ability to drive change, improve processes, and achieve organizational goals Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily based in healthcare or medical office settings Combination of administrative and frequent clinical engagement Mostly sedentary with some walking, standing, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs) High-responsibility role requiring strong decision-making under pressure Why Join Us This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a dedicated nursing team and shape the future of patient care within a forward-thinking healthcare organization.
