The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive nursing background, demonstrating expertise in patient care, team management, and clinical operations. As the RN Weekend Supervisor, you will oversee nursing staff during weekend shifts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence in healthcare delivery. Responsibilities Supervise nursing personnel during weekend shifts, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation in accordance with hospital protocols and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Oversee medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and other clinical interventions with precision and adherence to safety standards. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control policies to protect patient confidentiality and promote a safe environment. Facilitate communication among interdisciplinary teams including physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to coordinate discharge planning and treatment plans. Maintain accurate medical records, document incidents or adverse events, and participate in quality assurance activities aligned with NCQA standards. Provide mentorship and supervision to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative team environment while promoting professional development. Respond promptly to emergency situations such as airway management or acute pain management needs, utilizing skills acquired through ICU or trauma center experience. Qualifications Valid RN licensure with current registration; prior supervisory or team management experience preferred. Demonstrated clinical expertise in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; experience in emergency medicine or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute care environments. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (PICU), neonatal ventilator management, dementia care, or behavioral health settings. Skills in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, specimen collection/processing, and basic life support (BLS). Excellent leadership abilities with supervising experience in medical-surgical units or long-term care facilities; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Knowledge of infection control practices, sterile technique, and aseptic procedures essential for maintaining safety standards.
