The Medical/Surgical and Transitional Care Unit (TCU) team is committed to clinical excellence, patient safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. How you'll contribute As the Nurse Manager , you will oversee the daily operations of your assigned department and ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. You will provide clinical leadership and direction while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
A successful Nurse Manager will:
Assist in developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives that support the organization's strategic plan and vision Provide leadership and direction for patient care within the assigned department Assess the quality of patient care and coordinate services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments Lead staff relations activities, including performance management, employee engagement, staff satisfaction, and conflict resolution Oversee department scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagement activities Create and foster an environment that promotes professional growth, teamwork, and employee development Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, contracts, and vendor relationships Identify and justify department needs for equipment, supplies, and other resources Monitor supply usage and ensure equipment and systems are maintained in proper working order Integrate evidence-based practices into department operations and clinical protocols Promote compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to promote positive patient outcomes Provide direct patient care when necessary to support department operations Demonstrate decisive judgment and critical thinking when responding to clinical and operational challenges Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and promote a culture of clinical excellence What we're looking for Applicants should have a strong clinical background and demonstrated leadership experience in medical/surgical nursing.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, or current enrollment in a bachelor's degree nursing programLicenses:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licenseCertifications:
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationExperience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical/surgical nursing Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience Additional qualifications include: Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills Decisive judgment and the ability to work independently Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop nursing staff Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance Ability to work effectively with patients, families, physicians, staff, and interdisciplinary teamsSchedule Job Type:
