Nurse Manager IBD Integrated Gastroenterology Consultants Lowell, MA Job Details Full-time $85,844.07 - $103,382.11 a year 2 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Program management RN License HIPAA Medical scheduling Full Job Description Integrated Gastroenterology Consultants (IGIC) is an expanding, patient-centered practice dedicated to delivering exceptional gastrointestinal care across the Greater Boston area. Through advanced procedures, convenient access to care, and a commitment to innovation, we strive to improve patient outcomes while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for both patients and staff. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as our IBD Nurse Manager. This role will serve as the primary clinical resource for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The IBD Nurse Manager will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, infusion centers, specialty pharmacies, and patients to coordinate care, improve outcomes, and support the growth of IGIC's IBD Program. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical assessment skills, a passion for patient education, and the ability to manage complex chronic disease processes. Gastroenterology and IBD experience are preferred but not required. Leadership or management experience is a plus. Primary Responsibilities Clinical Care Coordination Serve as the primary nursing contact for IBD patients and their families. Triage patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical concerns, escalating issues to providers as appropriate. Coordinate and monitor treatment plans for patients receiving biologic therapies, infusion treatments, and injectable medications. Assist with medication management, prior authorizations, specialty pharmacy coordination, and infusion scheduling. Monitor patient adherence to treatment plans and facilitate timely follow-up care. Patient Education & Disease Management Conduct one-on-one patient visits focused on disease education, treatment plans, medication administration, and health maintenance. Provide education regarding Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, biologic therapies, nutrition, vaccinations, preventative care, and lifestyle modifications. Serve as a resource for patients navigating complex treatment regimens and chronic disease management. Support patients throughout their treatment journey to improve engagement, compliance, and outcomes. Program Development & Leadership Collaborate with physicians and clinical leadership to develop and enhance IGIC's IBD Program. Assist in creating and implementing workflows, protocols, and best practices related to IBD care. Identify opportunities to improve patient experience, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency. Support quality improvement initiatives and program growth. Serve as a clinical resource to providers, nurses, and staff regarding IBD-related care. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR). Coordinate referrals, laboratory testing, imaging studies, procedures, and follow-up appointments. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA requirements, and clinical standards. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and patient care discussions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience required. Gastroenterology, infusion therapy, chronic disease management, or specialty practice experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment and patient triage skills. Experience with biologic therapies, specialty medications, infusion coordination, and prior authorizations preferred. Leadership, supervisory, or program management experience is a plus. Excellent communication, organizational, and patient education skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday 40 hours per week
