Job Description

Midnight Supervisor (Overnight Shift) Assisted Living and Memory Care Community Position Summary The Midnight Supervisor is responsible for overseeing overnight operations within the assisted living community to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of all residents during nighttime hours. This position supervises overnight caregiving staff, responds to resident needs and emergencies, maintains a calm and secure environment, and ensures compliance with community policies and state regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and support overnight caregiving staff during assigned shift. Ensure resident safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the night. Conduct routine rounds to monitor residents and building security. Respond promptly and appropriately to resident call systems, emergencies, and incidents. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, including: Toileting Transfers and mobility assistance Incontinence care Overnight monitoring Administer or oversee medication assistance according to state regulations and community policy (if certified). Complete required documentation, reports, and communication logs accurately and timely. Monitor staffing levels and assign duties to overnight team members. Communicate important updates to incoming day shift and management. Ensure cleanliness and organization of common areas and nursing stations during overnight hours. Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures. Address resident, family, or staff concerns professionally and respectfully. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in assisted living, senior care, healthcare, or supervisory role preferred. Medication administration certification preferred or required per state regulations. CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused attitude. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout shift. Ability to assist residents with transfers and mobility. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Work Schedule Overnight shift, typically 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM Weekends and holidays as needed On call after hours and weekends. Work Environment The Midnight Supervisor works in a residential assisted living environment serving residents in our Assisted Living and Memory Care floors. The role requires maintaining a safe, quiet, and supportive atmosphere during overnight hours while responding effectively to resident needs and emergencies. Reports To Clinical Nurse /
