This role combines hands-on nursing responsibilities with volunteer coordination, training, clinic operations, and quality and compliance oversight. A key part of this position is recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and supporting clinical volunteers. The Clinical Nursing Coordinator helps ensure that volunteers are well prepared and equipped to serve while fostering collaboration across departments and maintaining a consistent focus on excellent patient care. This is an ideal opportunity for an RN who enjoys both clinical care and developing people, and who is comfortable taking initiative, solving problems, and helping a volunteer-driven healthcare environment operate effectively. What You'll Do Clinical & Patient Services Retrieve consult notes, laboratory results, and imaging results from outside healthcare systems and ensure they are appropriately documented in patient charts. Respond to patient calls regarding test results and clinical questions, within the scope of the position. Support clinical volunteers with questions related to patient care, charting, equipment, follow-up appointments, and testing. Assist with chart review and identification of necessary follow-up or "out-takes." Provide back-up help for rooming staff. Volunteer Coordination & Training Interview, onboard, and train clinical volunteers who assist with rooming and other clinical functions. Validate and maintain required clinical credentials for all clinical volunteers. Provide ongoing guidance, education, and support to clinical volunteers. Coordinate CPR training for volunteers and staff. Supervise clinic volunteers and interns and help them understand their roles, responsibilities, and contribution to patient care. Foster effective communication and coordination between clinical volunteers, staff, and other departments. Clinic Operations & Quality Monitor and maintain clinic and exam room supplies, including assigning appropriate tasks to volunteers. Order clinic supplies and maintain related invoice records. Oversee the maintenance and functionality of medical equipment used in the clinic. Perform quality checks on A1c equipment, blood pressure machines, glucometers, and other clinical equipment. Sanitize and sterilize used sterile devices in accordance with established procedures. Ensure appropriate maintenance of AEDs and other required clinical equipment. Support compliance with OSHA requirements, bloodborne pathogen procedures, chemical safety requirements, and equipment sterilization processes. Maintain required documentation, reports, and records. Create, review, and update clinical policies and procedures as needed. Donations Monitor and process all non-medication donations gathered from donation line Maintain donation log and donor correspondence Prepare donation form for Finance Prepare non-medication donations not kept by Hope for delivery to other agencies
What We're Looking For Required:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Current, unrestricted RN license. At least three years of clinical nursing experience. Experience working with patients with chronic disease. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly the ability to teach, train, and support volunteers. Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations. Flexibility, initiative, sound judgment, and a willingness to make recommendations and solve problems. Alignment with and commitment to Hope Clinic's mission, vision, and values.
